i think its a huge testament to the timelessness and gravity of Maya Angelou’s writing that after all this time people are still trying to ban her books, particularly “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.” often what was once considered shocking 40 years later is common- but Angelou’s work is still creating conversation and discord.

i sold my first piece of art today. i had two pieces in a co-op show and today was the opening, i couldn’t make it- but one of my pieces was the only piece in the entire, entire show to sell!
